Next Step Olympics 2016!
13 year old Joe Fundrey, a Year 8 student at the Marlborough Science Academy has won yet another gold medal. He has a disability called cerebral palsy and this effects his right side and because of that he got into the world of disability sports including Hertfordshire athletic and football teams. His events are Shot, Javelin and Discus and so far he has competed at lots of Hertfordshire levels and has even got to Nationals representing his region. Competing at this competitions he has achieved bronze, silver and gold for Shot Putt at Herts County Championships. A gold for 60m at Eastern Regional Championships and also 2 golds for Shot putt at the same competitions between the two I have done. He has also got a gold for Javelin at the Eastern Regional Championships. At most competitions he throws his own green 3kg Shot and for Discus he throws 750gs and for Javelin 400g. He is hoping this year to get a medal at the Nationals that he has just qualified for.

Congratulations Joe, the school are very proud of his achievements and we all know where he is destined to go!
